The total solar eclipse will begin over the South Pacific Ocean. Weather permitting, the first location in continental North America that will experience totality is Mexico’s Pacific coast at around 11:07 a.m. PDT. The total solar eclipse will be visible along a narrow track stretching from Texas to Maine on April 8, 2024.

More than 215 million U.S. adults viewed the total solar eclipse, either in person or virtually 42 Mins. 31 Secs. Monday, April 8, 2024, will be the last total solar eclipse for the next twenty years. While we will not have a view offering the perspective of totality, we can see a partial eclipse from the Denver area. DAS is holding an eclipse-watching party on the south lawn of DU’s historic Chamberlin Observatory from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
